WASHINGTON, DC – A 12-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that took place last summer in Northwest Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The carjacking occurred on July 3, 2024, around 4:58 a.m., in the 2800 block of 11th Street, Northwest. Authorities say the suspect approached a victim standing near their vehicle, brandished a firearm, and demanded the car. The victim complied, and the suspect fled in the vehicle.

After an investigation by detectives, the juvenile suspect — a male from Northeast DC — was taken into custody on April 1, 2025, under a DC Superior Court custody order. He has been charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
