WASHINGTON, DC — A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed in Northwest DC early Sunday morning, and a suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault, police said Monday.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:05 a.m. on March 30 in the 2000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. Third District officers responded to a report of a stabbing and located an adult female victim with stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested 28-year-old Dayonna Davis of Waldorf, Maryland. She has been charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).

Authorities have not disclosed the motive behind the attack, and the case remains under investigation.
