WASHINGTON, DC — A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly broke into an apartment in Southeast DC and fled with stolen property, police announced Monday.

The burglary took place around 1:34 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, in the 2400 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect unlawfully entered the victim’s apartment and removed items before being confronted and fleeing the scene.

Officers later located the suspect, identified as Maurice Murray of Southwest DC. He was arrested and charged with Burglary Two and Resisting Arrest.

The property stolen from the apartment has not been publicly detailed. No injuries were reported during the incident.
