FREDERICK, MD — A 27-year-old man from Silver Spring is in custody after Frederick police responded to a violent domestic disturbance and uncovered a suspected drug distribution operation.

On March 31, officers with the Frederick Police Department arrived at a residence in the 900 block of W. Patrick Street following a report of a disturbance. Inside, officers found a male suspect and a female victim, who had visible signs of repeated physical abuse.

Police identified the suspect as Tevis Denver Findlater.

The victim was immediately separated from him for her protection. Officers noted extensive bruising on the woman, including a large contusion on her forehead and additional injuries consistent with blunt force trauma.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Frederick Health Hospital, where medical staff confirmed she had suffered a broken back and other injuries consistent with ongoing physical assault.

While taking Findlater into custody, officers discovered approximately 30 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Authorities said the packaging and amount indicated possible intent to distribute. The substance was seized and submitted for testing.

Findlater faces multiple charges related to assault and drug possession with intent to distribute. The investigation remains ongoing.
