MILLSBORO, DE — A 38-year-old man was arrested Friday evening on drug and DUI charges after Delaware State Police stopped his vehicle in Millsboro for equipment and seatbelt violations.
Troopers say Brandon Myers of Millsboro was pulled over around 7:10 p.m. on March 28 after he was seen driving a silver Ford Flex with a broken headlight and no seatbelt as he exited a Royal Farms parking lot onto Mount Joy Road.
During the stop, the trooper noted that Myers appeared drowsy and observed drug paraphernalia in the center console of the car. A further search of Myers’ pocket uncovered several waxed bags suspected to contain heroin, police said.
Myers was taken into custody without incident after failing a field sobriety test. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 105 wax bags containing approximately 3.15 grams of heroin, along with more drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs, and a seatbelt violation.
Myers was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on an unsecured bond totaling $7,875.
Police say the investigation is closed with the arrest and charges filed against Myers.
