Police search for moped thieves after T Street carjacking

WASHINGTON, D.C.Police are searching for two suspects who stole a moped during an unarmed carjacking near T Street NW late Sunday night in the city’s Third District.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on March 23 in the 1100 block of T Street, Northwest. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, two male suspects — with unknown race and clothing descriptions — fled the scene with a red and black moped bearing Maryland tag 6307Y1.

Investigators say one suspect drove the stolen moped while the second followed behind on a Lime bike. A white work van with Virginia tag TFK4333 was also seen following the suspects.

MPD is actively investigating the case and urging anyone with information to come forward.
