MIDDLETOWN, PA — A Pennsylvania Lottery player is now a millionaire after purchasing a winning $1,000,000 Winnings Scratch-Off ticket in Fayette County, officials announced Tuesday.
The $20 ticket, which offers a top prize of $1 million, was sold at Foster House II, located at One Cook Road in Belle Vernon. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The Pennsylvania Lottery said the winning ticket was part of the $1,000,000 Winnings game, and prizes for scratch-offs must be claimed within one year from the game’s official end-sale date. Players are urged to immediately sign the back of their winning ticket and contact the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481.
Scratch-Off winners are determined at random. The Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets are located until the prize is claimed.
All prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to applicable state and federal withholdings.
