LAURELVILLE, OH — A lucky player in Laurelville claimed a $500,000 top prize after purchasing a winning ticket from the Ohio Lottery’s $500,000 Platinum Jackpot scratch-off game, officials announced Monday.

The winning $10 ticket was purchased at Young’s Foodtown, located at 16055 Main Street. After required state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, the winner will take home approximately $360,000.

The $500,000 Platinum Jackpot scratch-off offers players a chance at one of several six-figure payouts. As of March 24, two top prizes remain in the game.

The winner has not been publicly identified. Ohio Lottery officials recommend that winners immediately sign the back of their tickets and follow official claiming procedures.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to state education programs since its inception in 1974.
