SEAFORD, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested a 23-year-old Seaford man in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month that left one man dead and three others injured at Nutter Park.
Johnathan Dugazon was taken into custody without incident on March 24 by officers from the Seaford Police Department. He was later charged with multiple felonies, including Murder 1st Degree, and is being held on a $2,156,000 cash bond at Sussex Correctional Institution.
The shooting took place on March 12 around 4:24 p.m. at Nutter Park, located at 712 Collins Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found 23-year-old Schweitzer Dessin suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Dessin later died at a nearby hospital.
Three other men, ages 19, 21, and 23, were also injured in the shooting and transported themselves to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the initial response, the Seaford Police Department requested assistance from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, which later identified Dugazon as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.
