ALEXANDRIA, VA — Jessica Aber, the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead Saturday morning in her Alexandria home, prompting an active police investigation.
Police responded at 9:18 a.m. to the 900 block of Beverley Drive after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman, according to a statement released by Alexandria Police Chief Tarrick McGuire. Officers arrived on the scene and located a deceased woman, later identified as Aber.
The 43-year-old prosecutor’s death was confirmed following notification of her family. Authorities did not release any further details about the circumstances or whether foul play is suspected.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death, police said.
