DOVER, DE — Delaware State Police arrested two men in connection with the death of a 77-year-old woman whose body was found inside her Dover home last week, authorities announced Monday.

Brandon Holland, 38, and Edward Jobes, 43, both of Dover, have been charged with murder and other related offenses following a homicide investigation into the death of Lynda Carson-Fizer.

Key Points

  • Brandon Holland and Edward Jobes arrested for murder in connection with the death of 77-year-old Lynda Carson-Fizer.
  • The victim was found dead with injuries in her home during a welfare check.

On March 20, troopers conducted a welfare check at Carson-Fizer’s residence in the 1300 block of Wyoming Mill Road after a report from a healthcare facility raised concerns about her safety. Officers found Carson-Fizer deceased with visible physical injuries.

The Homicide Unit took over the case due to the suspicious nature of the death. Investigators later determined that Holland, an acquaintance of the victim, had assaulted Carson-Fizer during an argument on March 17. After the assault, both Holland and Jobes fled the residence, leaving the injured victim without the ability to care for herself or call for help.

On March 23, both men were arrested without incident and taken to Troop 3, where they were formally charged.
