MANHATTAN, NY — Police are searching for a man accused of performing a lewd act aboard a northbound 3 train in Harlem on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. as the train approached the 145th Street subway station. Witnesses told police they observed an unidentified male engaging in the inappropriate behavior while still on the train.

Authorities said the suspect exited the train at the Harlem–148th Street station and fled the area. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

“It was reported to the police that… an unidentified male was observed performing a lewd act,” the NYPD stated in its appeal to the public.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect, which are available through the NYPD’s DCPI, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
