STAFFORD, VA — A 52-year-old Stafford man died early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Cambridge Street, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy W.J. Walker responded to the 500 block of Cambridge Street at approximately 6:06 a.m. following an initial report of a collision involving a deer. Upon arrival, the deputy discovered an adult male with serious injuries lying on the ground. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Gregory Breeden, a local resident. Investigators believe Breeden was walking southbound when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The driver remained at the scene, was uninjured, and is cooperating with authorities.
