PHILADELPHIA, PA — A fatal crash along Interstate 95 in Philadelphia left one man dead Friday night and another unidentified, according to police.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:18 p.m. near Castor Avenue and Richmond Street in the city’s 24th District.
Authorities said a Mazda traveling northbound on I-95 struck a barrier and overturned, landing on the sidewalk beneath the highway.
A 22-year-old Black male was transported by Philadelphia Fire Department medics to Aria Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:00 p.m.
The second occupant of the vehicle, referred to as “John Doe,” remains unidentified.
The Pennsylvania State Police is leading the investigation, and the scene remains secured pending further review.
