Road Rage Incident Ends With Smashed Window, Assault and Arrest in Delaware

New Castle, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating an assault following a road rage incident that took place last week on North Dupont Highway.

On Tuesday, at around 3:31 p.m., troopers were alerted to an alleged road rage-related assault on North Dupont Highway near Market Place. Reports indicate that a Subaru Forester was involved in a confrontation with a dark-colored pickup truck. When the Subaru stopped behind the pickup in the left turn lane, the truck’s driver approached the Subaru with an unknown metal tool, allegedly breaking the driver’s side window and striking the victim’s face. The suspect then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.

The injured party, a 59-year-old man from New Castle, was assessed onsite by EMS personnel. The suspect is described as an older white male, though additional details about the suspect or the vehicle remain unavailable.
