Young Woman Injured in Early Morning Shooting

MONESSEN, PA — Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a 23-year-old woman outside a private club on Knox Avenue early Thursday morning.

Monessen Police and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. on March 20. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the wrist and was initially taken to Penn Highlands Mon Valley before being flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening, and she is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed. However, investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. The Monessen Police Department and County Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
