LAKEWOOD, N.J. – A pedestrian, estimated to be around 70 years old, was struck and trapped beneath a school bus at the intersection of Central Avenue and Glen Avenue on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Emergency crews from Hatzolah, with assistance from Chaveirim of Central Jersey, responded swiftly to the scene. Chaveirim provided a jack to help lift the bus, allowing rescuers to free the individual.
Authorities reported that the victim was in stable condition and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further medical care.
Officials have not yet released details on what led to the crash or whether any charges will be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
