STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Stafford man was arrested after causing multiple disturbances while intoxicated, ending in a standoff inside a McDonald’s bathroom, authorities said.
Ryan Reid, 31, was taken into custody on March 15 after deputies responded to reports of disorderly conduct at multiple locations. According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 5:52 p.m. when Deputy C.A. Sharp was called to Almond Drive, where Reid had allegedly been screaming, throwing items, and smashing decorations outside a residence. Witnesses said he fled in a blue Acura.
Shortly after, Deputy S.M. Kotter was dispatched to a nearby Wawa on Wonder Road for a separate disturbance involving a man yelling at a customer. The suspect, later identified as Reid, was seen entering a McDonald’s next door, where he barricaded himself inside a bathroom stall.
Deputies repeatedly ordered him to exit, but Reid refused until the mention of OC spray prompted his compliance. He showed signs of intoxication, and security footage confirmed he had driven to the Wawa before the altercation.
Reid was charged with DUI, disorderly conduct, destruction of property, obstruction of justice, and other offenses. He was booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
