13-year-old arrested after DC robbery attempt

Washington, D.C. A robbery suspect didn’t get far after snatching a victim’s belongings in Northwest DC, as police quickly tracked him down and made an arrest.

The incident happened around 6:00 p.m. on March 10 in the 1800 block of 20th Street, Northwest. The suspect grabbed the victim’s property and tried to escape, but the victim managed to retrieve their belongings before the suspect fled again.

A short time later, officers from the Second District located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. The suspect, a 13-year-old boy from Northwest DC, has been charged with robbery.

The case remains under investigation.
