TRENTON, N.J. — From the boardwalks to the suburbs, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are taking over New Jersey in March with parades across the state. Festivities will feature bagpipers, Irish dancers, marching bands, and plenty of green.
The season kicked off in Mount Holly on March 1st.
The fun continues for the net two weeks.
Irish music fans can catch Andy Cooney’s Irish Celebration from March 12 to 17 at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton. Meanwhile, the Hunterdon County Irish Festival runs from March 14 to 16 at the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, featuring concerts and cultural events.
On March 14 at 1 p.m., Newark’s parade will travel through downtown, starting at Mulberry Street and Raymond Boulevard. Morristown’s parade follows on March 15 at noon, beginning on South Street.
The weekend of March 16 brings two more parades: Bergen County’s event at 2 p.m. in Bergenfield and Somerville’s parade at 1:30 p.m., an event Forbes has called one of the top St. Patrick’s Day parades in the U.S.
Rounding out the celebrations, the National Dance Company of Ireland’s “Rhythm of the Dance” performance will take place at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on March 21 at 7:30 p.m.. The final parade of the season is in Highlands on March 22 at 2 p.m., featuring floats, bagpipers, and dancers marching from Huddy Park.
New Jersey’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations promise a month of music, culture, and lively parades across the state.
