Three juveniles arrested for assault at McCullough Middle School

NEW CASTLE, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested three students in connection with an assault at Calvin R. McCullough Middle School that left a 13-year-old victim hospitalized with serious head injuries.

The incident occurred on the morning of February 28, when two 13-year-old girls struck the victim multiple times in the head with a metal Stanley cup, while a 12-year-old boy also assaulted the student. School staff intervened, and the suspects were released to their guardians as an investigation was conducted.

Following the investigation, police obtained warrants for the two 13-year-olds, who later turned themselves in and were charged with multiple felonies. The 12-year-old suspect was charged with a misdemeanor offense.
