JACKSON, N.J. — The Jackson Township Council recognized Innovative Martial Arts as its Small Business of the Month for January 2025, highlighting the school’s contributions to the community.
Councilman Giuseppe Palmeri made the announcement during a ceremony, commending the business for its role beyond martial arts training.

“Tonight we are proud to recognize Innovative Martial Arts as Jackson Township’s small business highlight for January 2025,” Palmeri said.
Owned and operated by Senior Master Evan Turner and his wife, Innovative Martial Arts has been serving the Jackson community for eight years. In addition to martial arts instruction, the business provides after-school care, a summer camp program, and community service initiatives, including holiday food drives.

Master Turner is a 7th degree Black Belt with over 30 years of Martial Arts experience. Turner has won 12 ATA World Titles, was an original member of Team ATA USA, and is the Co-Creator of the ATA MAX curriculum used in over 1,000 schools worldwide
Palmeri also acknowledged Mrs. Malvino, the general manager, for her leadership in ensuring the school’s success.
Mrs. Malvino, a 2nd Degree Black Black Belt and World Champion, is the general manager of Innovate Martial Arts. Mrs. Malvino is a certified childhood education teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience.

“Along with their incredible staff, they create a welcoming and supportive environment that empowers students and families alike,” he said.
Following the speech, the council presented a plaque to the business in recognition of its impact on Jackson Township.
