NEWARK, N.J. — A flag was hung upside down at Harold Wilson School, raising questions about who placed it there and why.
The school, located at 190 Muhammad Ali Avenue, formerly 301 West Kinney Street, opened in 1984 as the Newark Extended Care Facility for special education students. It was later repurposed as Harold Wilson Middle School in the 1990s before closing in 2005 due to declining enrollment and district reorganization.
It remains unclear who was responsible for hanging the flag upside down or what the intent may have been.
Authorities have not provided any information regarding the incident.
