Fake Cop Arrested in Delaware After Pulling Over Unsuspecting Victim

SELBYVILLE, Del. — A 19-year-old Selbyville man has been arrested for impersonating a police officer after allegedly using flashing red and blue lights to mimic a law enforcement vehicle, Delaware State Police said Thursday.

The incident occurred on the night of February 26, when a 23-year-old man reported being followed by a white Dodge Magnum with Arizona registration while driving eastbound on Nine Foot Road. The suspect vehicle activated flashing red and blue lights, prompting the victim to begin pulling over. However, the Dodge passed him and continued driving.

The victim later saw the vehicle pull into a Royal Farms in Dagsboro, where he parked at a distance and called 911, providing the car’s registration number and description. Shortly after, the driver of the Dodge allegedly confronted the victim verbally before fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation, troopers identified Blayden Rose as the suspect. On February 27, Rose voluntarily came to Troop 4 for questioning, where authorities observed red LED lights mounted above the rear windshield of his vehicle.

Rose was charged with impersonating a police officer, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on his own recognizance.
