TRENTON, N.J. – Authorities announced Wednesday the arrest of a local pastor on serious charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old. Charles B. Brinson, 64, faces multiple counts of sexual assault following a weeks-long investigation into disturbing allegations.
Brinson, identified as the bishop of Brinson Memorial Church, Inc., was apprehended at his Trenton home on February 19. The arrest came after a collaborative effort between the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Trenton Police Department uncovered evidence of the alleged crimes. Prosecutors have since filed a motion to keep Brinson detained as the case moves toward trial.
According to officials, the assaults took place at Brinson’s residence in Trenton on separate occasions in January and February. Investigators allege that the pastor administered an unknown substance to the victim, rendering them unconscious before carrying out the attacks.

The investigation remains active, with authorities appealing to the public for assistance. “We urge anyone with information to come forward,” a spokesperson for the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in the case.
As the inquiry continues, officials are working to determine if there are additional details or victims tied to the allegations against Brinson. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office directly.
