SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. — A New Jersey man accused of brutally killing his two aunts in Rockland County has been indicted on multiple murder charges and now faces life in prison without parole, authorities said.

Alan Abad, also known as “Alina Abad,” 19, of Westwood, N.J., was arraigned Tuesday in Rockland County Court on one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Evelyn Aguilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar.

Prosecutors say the killings took place on Feb. 15, 2025, at a residence on Gesner Drive in Spring Valley. Abad allegedly inflicted blunt force trauma to Aguilar-Agustin’s head, face, and abdomen, and caused severe head and neck injuries to Aguilar, leading to their deaths.

“The victims, who were aunts of the defendant, were brutally and senselessly murdered,” Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh said in a statement. “We will seek justice for the victims and their families.”

Abad was arraigned before Judge Kevin F. Russo and remanded without bail to the Rockland County Jail.

A Rockland County grand jury has indicted a New Jersey man on first-degree murder charges after prosecutors say he brutally beat his two aunts to death.
