NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Authorities have filed additional child sexual abuse charges against a New Rochelle man previously arrested in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy, police said.

Hugo Perez-Gabriel, 32, was arraigned Saturday in Westchester County on multiple felony charges, including two counts each of use of a child in a sexual performance, disseminating indecent material to minors, and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

Detectives allege Perez-Gabriel used WhatsApp earlier this month to solicit explicit videos from a minor, who was later found dead.

Perez-Gabriel was first arrested on Feb. 7 and charged with concealment of a human corpse after police say he abandoned the 15-year-old victim’s body. A 16-year-old from New Rochelle was also charged in connection with the case.

“This case represents a heartbreaking loss for our community,” New Rochelle Police Commissioner Robert Gazzola said. “These new charges reflect our commitment to holding perpetrators accountable.”

The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the events leading up to the teen’s death.

Authorities continue to seek information and urge anyone with knowledge of the case to contact the New Rochelle Police Department.
