Do You Recognize Them? Newark Police Searching for Several Suspects in Armed Robbery

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects and a vehicle involved in an armed robbery that took place last week, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. announced.

The incident occurred on February 18 at approximately 8:35 p.m. in the 200 block of McWhorter Street. According to police, a man sitting inside his vehicle was approached by an armed suspect who opened the driver’s side door, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded money and his vehicle in Spanish. A second suspect entered through the front passenger door and searched the victim’s pockets.

When the victim pressed his car horn, the suspects assaulted him before fleeing in a gray Dodge Durango, which was last seen heading west on Johnson Street toward New Jersey Railroad Avenue.
