Trio of Delaware Graverobbers Busted for $100k Heist of the Dead

WILMINGTON, Del. – Three Newark residents have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts from All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, where nearly 200 bronze vases were stolen from gravesites, Delaware State Police said.

Thomas Hudson, 34, Ashley Newcomb, 32, and Alonza Mosley, 37, were taken into custody after an investigation linked them to thefts that occurred between September and November 2024. Police said four suspects were seen trespassing onto the cemetery property after hours, stealing ceremonial vases from gravestones, and fleeing in a parked vehicle. The stolen vases were valued at more than $100,000.

Investigators determined that the suspects sold the vases at a recycling center in New Castle multiple times over the three-month period. Police said the suspects also used another person’s identification to complete the transactions.

On February 19, 2025, troopers executed search and arrest warrants at a Newark residence, apprehending Hudson, Newcomb, and Mosley without incident. The fourth suspect has not yet been identified.

All three suspects were taken to Troop 2, where they face multiple charges related to the thefts.
