WILMINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Darmond Green of Wilmington and 20-year-old Taa Box of Townsend on multiple felony charges in connection with a shooting that left a 19-year-old man critically injured.

The shooting occurred Wednesday around 4:29 p.m. on East Lea Boulevard near North Market Street. Troopers arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound and provided life-saving aid before EMS transported him to a hospital. He remains in critical condition.

Investigators determined that the victim was walking to a residence when he was shot by an unknown suspect. Surveillance footage showed the suspect being dropped off in the parking lot of an Advance Auto Parts store by a Hyundai Santa Fe before the shooting. After firing, the suspect fled toward the back of the lot, where the Hyundai picked him up and left the area.

On Thursday, Wilmington Police conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and arrested Green and Box. Delaware State Police later identified Green as the shooter and Box as an accomplice who helped dispose of evidence.
