YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A police officer and a gunman are dead following a shooting at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York County on Saturday, according to law enforcement and hospital officials.

No patients were injured in the incident, but authorities have not yet disclosed whether there were additional injuries.

The officer who died was a member of the West York Borough Police Department, officials confirmed.

UPMC Memorial stated that the hospital is now secure and that law enforcement is managing the situation. Officials have asked employees not scheduled to work on Saturday to stay home.

Governor Josh Shapiro said he has been briefed on the shooting, and state agencies are responding to the scene.
