Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reportedly blocked access to U.S. President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, across Ukraine. The move comes as tensions rise between the two leaders over the war with Russia and discussions of a potential peace deal.

Ukraine’s media is state-controlled and the government routinely blocks social media sites which it feels could be damaging to itself.

In recent days, Trump has called Zelenskyy a dictator with a ‘very low’ public rating.

The restriction was implemented through Ukraine’s national telecommunications regulators, cutting off access to the platform for users in the country.

No official explanation was provided by Ukrainian authorities regarding the Truth Social blackout.

“Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and ‘TRUMP,’ will never be able to settle,” Trump wrote of the former actor turned leader of Ukraine. “A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia.”

The decision follows recent comments from Trump suggesting he could broker a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia if re-elected. Zelenskyy has publicly pushed back against Trump’s stance, emphasizing that Ukraine will not negotiate terms that compromise its sovereignty.
