SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. — A 22-year-old Farmingville man has been indicted on multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, for allegedly robbing a Flanders deli at gunpoint, assaulting a clerk, and later being found with drugs and weapons in his home, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced Wednesday.
The defendant, Demario Weston Jr., is accused of entering El Quetzal Deli on September 23, 2024, wearing a mask and winter coat while brandishing a handgun equipped with a laser sight. Prosecutors say Weston threatened the store clerk, stole approximately $6,000 from the register, and pistol-whipped the victim before fleeing.
Following an investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant on January 8, 2025, at Weston’s Farmingville apartment, where they allegedly discovered a loaded handgun matching the weapon used in the robbery, additional ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, digital scales, and cash. Weston’s girlfriend, Tiana MacDonald, 24, and her child were present at the time.
Weston was arraigned on January 23, 2025, before Acting Supreme Court Justice Steven A. Pilewski, facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on $1 million cash bail and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
MacDonald was indicted separately and arraigned February 18, 2025, on drug and child endangerment charges. Despite the seriousness of the allegations, she was released without bail under New York State’s bail laws and faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.
Weston is scheduled to return to court on February 26, 2025, while MacDonald is due back on March 11, 2025. The case is being prosecuted by the Violent Crime Enterprises Bureau of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
