BENSALEM, PA — A Michigan man allegedly drove more than 700 miles to Pennsylvania with the intent to set fire to the home of a perceived romantic rival, police said.
Harrison Jones, 21, of Rockford, Michigan, was arrested after authorities said he made the 11-hour drive to Bensalem, where his ex-girlfriend’s online love interest lived, and allegedly set the man’s house on fire.
Bensalem Police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest on Feb. 17, calling Jones’ actions “murderous intentions.”
The incident occurred in the early hours of Feb. 10. A resident of the home said she heard a disturbance and saw a hooded figure downstairs, initially assuming it was her 22-year-old son. When she later returned downstairs, she found the house in flames.
Jones is accused of fleeing the scene and driving back to Michigan after allegedly setting the fire. Authorities have not disclosed what charges he faces.
