DC carjacker assaults victim before stealing vehicle

WASHINGTON, DC — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a carjacking earlier this month in Northwest D.C.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on February 3 in the 3800 block of Davis Place, NW. The suspect approached the victim, assaulted them as they attempted to enter their vehicle, and then stole the car after taking the keys. The vehicle was recovered the following day.

A surveillance camera captured images of the suspect, and police are urging anyone who recognizes the individual to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call (202) 727-9099 or text MPD’s tip line at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
