QUEENS, N.Y. — A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with first-degree gang assault Friday in connection with the fatal stabbing of another teenager in Queens, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 3:31 p.m. at 38-02 Queens Boulevard, where they found a 14-year-old male with a stab wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities identified the deceased as Julian Corniell, 14, of 107-54 159 Street in Queens.
The suspect was taken into custody at 5:40 p.m. as part of an ongoing investigation. Police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the motive behind the deadly stabbing.
