ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Governor Kathy Hochul has responded to a Department of Justice charge elaunched yesterday against her and New York Attorney General Leticia James.
It appears Hochul is ready to play FAFO with Bondi and the Trump administration, who are investigating the Governor’s role in the deaths of Americans set free by criminal illegal aliens being sheltered in New York state.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul sharply criticized a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, calling it a “worthless, publicity-driven” effort that is destined to fail.
In a statement released Wednesday, Hochul accused Bondi of staging a dramatic media event to announce legal action against New York’s immigration policies, only for it to be revealed later as a routine civil suit from the Department of Justice.
“Our current laws allow federal immigration officials to access any DMV database with a judicial warrant. That’s a common-sense approach that most New Yorkers support,” Hochul said, emphasizing that the state would not grant “unfettered access” to federal agents or private entities.
Hochul defended the state’s stance on immigration, stating that New York welcomes law-abiding individuals seeking a better life while maintaining public safety by cracking down on violent criminals.
“We expect Pam Bondi’s worthless, publicity-driven lawsuit to be a total failure, just like all the others,” Hochul declared, adding, “New York is not backing down.”
AG James has not responded to the charges against her.
