WASHINGTON, DC — A man was shot and killed inside the parking garage at Union Station on Monday afternoon, prompting a homicide investigation, officials said.
First District officers and multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene around 4:37 p.m. after Amtrak Police heard gunfire near the bus waiting area. The victim was found near the escalators, unresponsive and not breathing. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until DC Fire and EMS arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Security footage obtained by investigators shows the suspect and the victim briefly interacting before the suspect pulled out a firearm and opened fire as the victim ran.
The victim’s identity is pending confirmation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411.
