CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman and the death of a 7-day-old infant, as well as endangering three other children, police said.

Robert Pasco III, of the 5200 block of South Blackstone Avenue, was arrested on February 10 in the 1400 block of East 52nd Street. Authorities identified him as the suspect in the January 16 shooting death of a 35-year-old woman in the 5800 block of West Newport in the city’s 16th District.

Pasco faces one felony count of involuntary manslaughter of a family member, one felony count of causing a child’s death through endangerment, and three misdemeanor counts of child endangerment. Police said three children—a 3-year-old girl, a 4-year-old girl, and a 7-year-old boy—were inside the residence at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

Pasco is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on February 12 at 2600 South California Avenue. Authorities have not released additional details about the case.
