PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A man and his partner have been arrested in connection to a deadly Suitland shooting that left a 30-year-old man dead, authorities said.
The shooting occurred on Nov. 15 around 5:45 p.m. at the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive. Officers arrived to find Brian Speaks suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives named 30-year-old Francis Holmes Jr. as the suspected gunman and secured a warrant for his arrest. According to investigators, Holmes allegedly opened fire on Speaks during a conflict tied to a separate individual. His partner, 28-year-old Marquis Anbaz, is accused of assisting in concealing the firearm in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Holmes has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, while Anbaz faces charges of accessory after the fact. Holmes remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues.
