Taylor Swift Booed at Super Bowl, Trump Seizes Moment to Mock Singer Who Campaigned Against Him

NEW ORLEANS — President Donald Trump taunted Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs after the team’s Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, highlighting that the pop star was booed by the crowd at Allegiant Stadium.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote on social media.

Swift, who is dating Chiefs wide receiver Travis Kelce, was shown on the stadium’s big screen during the pregame, prompting a loud chorus of boos from the crowd. Later, when the camera focused on Trump, the former president was met with thunderous cheers and applause.

The popstar appeared to have been caught off guard by the unwelcome reception, saying, “What is going on?”

She did not comment on the situation after the game.

Swift, a vocal supporter of Democratic candidates, has drawn political attention in recent months, with speculation over her potential influence in the 2024 election. Neither Swift nor Kelce has responded to Trump’s remarks. She eventually endorsed Kamala Harris and that endorsement was expected to bring her fans out to vote for the former Vice President. The plan did not work as Trump not only won the electoral college vote, but the popular vote. Republicans also won control of the House and the Senate.

Trump seized on the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to take a jab at Taylor Swift, drawing a sharp contrast in crowd reactions. The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22.
