WASHINGTON, DC – A shoplifting incident in Northwest D.C. escalated into violence when a store employee was stabbed and threatened with a gun.
On Sunday at approximately 4:49 p.m., officers responded to an establishment in the 6200 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. A store employee confronted a man for shoplifting, leading the suspect to stab the worker with a knife. A second suspect then brandished a handgun and threatened the victim before both suspects fled.
DC Fire and EMS transported the injured employee to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Surveillance cameras captured an image of the first suspect, and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
