Fire displaces family of four and dog in Southeast DC home blaze

WASHINGTON — A fire broke out in a one-story home on the 3600 block of Bangor Street SE, forcing two adults, two children, and a dog to evacuate, according to DC Fire and EMS.

Firefighters responded to the box alarm and found flames in the basement and first floor of the detached home. Crews brought the fire under control, and no injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced family, and fire investigators remain on the scene to determine the cause.
