MARYDEL, Del. — A 66-year-old man from Camden-Wyoming died early Saturday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Westville Road, according to Delaware State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:23 a.m., when a blue 2018 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound veered off the north edge of the roadway for reasons under investigation. The vehicle struck a utility box and sideswiped trees before reentering the road, then veered off the south edge and collided with a tree.
The driver was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of his family.
Authorities closed the roadway for 2.5 hours while investigators worked at the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information to contact Master Corporal J.
