NEW CASTLE, Del. — Two women have been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery of a 74-year-old woman at a McDonald’s in New Castle, Delaware State Police announced.
Dhymand Johnson, 25, and Angel Edwards, 41, both of New Castle, were taken into custody Sunday afternoon after allegedly stealing an envelope containing cash from the elderly victim inside the restaurant on North Dupont Highway.
The suspects fled in a red Ford Flex, but a responding trooper spotted the vehicle on New Castle Avenue near I-295 and conducted a traffic stop. Johnson and Edwards were detained without incident, police said.
Authorities recovered the victim’s property during a search of the vehicle. Investigators also determined that two children were present with the suspects during the robbery.
