Utica, NY – On Thursday, an investigator from the Special Investigations Unit acquired contact information for a person involved in cocaine distribution. The investigator arranged a narcotics purchase from the suspect, leading to law enforcement action.
Following the transaction, Crime Prevention Unit officers stopped the individual and arrested him. The suspect, identified as James Schiess, 35, from Utica, was detained and taken to the Utica Police Department.
Schiess faces several charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree for both possession and intent to sell, as well as Criminal Possession in the seventh degree. Additionally, he is charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence for allegedly attempting to destroy the narcotics.
