CHICAGO — Two men have been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the fatal attack of a 63-year-old man in Chicago’s 16th District, police announced Friday.
Jefferson Ubilla-Delgado, 29, and Geiderwuin Bello Morales, 21, were arrested earlier this week and charged with felony counts of murder and robbery targeting a victim who was handicapped or over 60 years old.
Authorities say the homicide occurred on Jan. 26 in the 7600 block of W. Talcott Avenue. Ubilla-Delgado was taken into custody on Jan. 29 in the 6100 block of N. Northwest Highway, while Bello Morales was arrested on Jan. 30 in the 2600 block of N. Troy Street.
Both suspects are scheduled for a detention hearing on Feb. 1 at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
Police have not released additional details about the incident as the investigation remains ongoing.
