Man Fatally Shot in Southeast D.C. Vehicle

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle early Sunday morning in Southeast Washington, prompting a homicide investigation, officials announced Monday.

At approximately 3:03 a.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to reports of a shooting in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

DC Fire and EMS personnel arrived on the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Alem Medmim of Alexandria, Virginia.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
