PHILADELPHIA — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Raymundo Rojas Bacilio, a Mexican national wanted for rape in Mexico, following his conviction in New York for forcible touching, officials announced.
Rojas was removed to Mexico on Jan. 25 after being arrested in Corona, New York, during a targeted enforcement operation on Dec. 17, 2024. He had previously been deported twice in 2012 after illegally entering the United States near Nogales, Arizona. Despite a 2013 arrest warrant issued by Mexican authorities for rape, he reentered the U.S. at an unknown date and location.
On Nov. 11, 2024, the Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn convicted Rojas of forcible touching and sentenced him to 60 days in jail, six years of probation, and sex offender registration. ICE later reinstated his prior removal order, holding him in custody until his deportation.
“The removal of the criminal alien Raymundo Rojas Bacilio, a sexual predator, underscores the critical importance of our enforcement actions,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane.
Authorities say Rojas’ removal is part of ongoing efforts to apprehend and deport individuals who pose a threat to public safety.
