Delaware State Police fugitive shooting suspect in Frankford area

FRANKFORD, Del. — Delaware State Police are searching for 18-year-old Kelvin Wescott of Seaford, who is wanted in connection with a shooting that critically injured a man in Frankford, authorities said.

The incident occurred on February 2 at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road. Responding troopers learned that a 41-year-old man had been shot during an argument and was taken to the Frankford Fire Company before being transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators determined that the victim and a Black male suspect were arguing at a residence when the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene. Through investigative efforts, detectives identified Wescott as the shooter and are working to locate him.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Wescott’s whereabouts to contact Delaware State Police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
